the past few days have included a cruise around town, a filling and enjoyable thursday night, an afternoon in bledsoe's room, a visit from a girl well-missed, a fairly successful dive meet, a perfect morning, a rousing chess game's stalemate, and a starting rain.

today, bernice & i took shadow for a walk in the park. maybe it's strange, but something so simple as running around with an aging dog made me appreciate my vitality. it's great to be so young and so happy and have so many opportunities and so many great people. 

happy new year, for real; optimism is back.
