70 down, 90 to go!

So I got home early today, since rain postponed the tennis match. I told myself upon entering, "I'm going to finish The Awakening before the sun sets. So I start reading - and fall asleep. I snacked a bit and screwed around on the internet. So here I am, thinking about sleep and Kate Chopin still has nearly 100 pages for me to read. Good thing that Robert is so charming. I might spurn the book entirely otherwise.

I like rainy days a lot. I put on some sobering music and open the window and read or rest or doodle or whatever suits my fancy. It looks like we'll  have a nice storm tomorrow, too. It must be cool to be Storm Burks. I bet when he was in chemistry and Ms. Konizer put all those clippings of students in the paper on her bulletin board, he'd think to himself: man, the weatherman talks about me on TV.. EVERY NIGHT.

I think this weekend's looking pretty cool, especially with a chance of more rain. Tomorrow feels like Friday already, though. I hope everyone has a good Thursday/Friday.

whenever i start to clean or blog or do homework or write or read or watch a movie or paint or run or walk, i start. and then i stop, and it stops seeming worthwhile. i erase what i've got and plan to start over another day.

there's nothing depressing like watching your life fall into a pattern. and you watch it happen too. you hate gazing at it while it falls and sweeps and spins into that god-damned pattern.

does that make sense?

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

things are feeling thin;
well, i know, i know.
lost my seat again;
well, i'll go, i'll go.
pushing in the pin;
well, i know, i know.
we're gonna go back in;
we're gonna go, go, go!

just one week. one week and cares will melt like lemon drops. i'll be well rested, i'll have all the time in the world, and there won't be any choir shows to dread.
